The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf introduces healthy to the menu

KOTA KINABALU: Here’s a tip for foodies who want something healthy and delicious; head to the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) Gleneagles.

CBTL Area Manager (Kota Kinabalu), Maseirzan Gabil said that eating healthy can be tough, therefore they have come up with a guilt-free feast of wholesome and hearty creations.

“We offer this healthy food at three branches, the CBTL Gleneagles, CBTL Wisma Merdeka and CBTL Damai. “So whether you’re on a diet, a vegetarian or trying to build muscle, you will find something delicious to eat on the CBTL menu,” said Maseizan at a food tasting session here, on Tuesday.

He added that their healthy menu aims to improve the well-being of customers by what they eat.

“Everything is made from scratch including the sauces and salad dressings and is free from preservatives.” Available for breakfast and lunch as well.

Among highlights on the menus are CBTL breakfast, Salmon & Egg Muffin and Eggs Ben, available at CBTL Gleneagles and Wisma Merdeka.

The muffins are baked in-house by CBTL Chel DePartie, Elvin Charles Patrick and his team. Each portion is rich in protein with just the right amount of carbohydrates.

“Eating healthy doesn’t need to be boring and bland affair with CBTL Veggie Soup with Broccoli, Roasted Chicken Carbonara and Grilled Red Snapper which are only available at CBTL Damai and Gleneagles.”

The soup is creamy, yet delicate in flavour, loaded with celery, carrot, corn, broccoli, with a dash of cream and comes with a side of French toast. Eating it while hot is fantastic.

While for the tasty and relatively low fat yet filling Roasted Chicken Carbonara, it comes with crispy beef rashers. CBTL Demi Chef David Liew, said that KK is synonymous with delicious seafood, therefore the Grilled Red Snapper is a great addition to the CBTL menu. It comes with green long beans on top of a bed of mashed potatoes and hollandaise sauce. To the seafood lover, a must have at CBTL.

Additionally, fish are supplied by local suppliers making it fresher, better tasting all while helping to support local fishing communities.

Besides that, vegans will be in for a treat with the CBTL Couscous Corn Salad packed with amazing flavours that work really well together.

A comforting Maghrebian dish, chocked full of chickpeas, corn, tomatoes and coral salad tossed in apple cider.

Another must-have has got to be the Roasted Chicken Wrap – made out of a large, soft wholemeal tortilla wrap stuffed with juicy all-white roasted chicken, guacamole, fresh lettuce with salad on the side and Honey Mustard Dressing topped with almonds and raisins.

To top it off, guests can indulge in the CBTL Honey Chicken and Jalapeno Pizza. However, only available at CBTL Damai and Gleneagles.

The pizzas fit well into any dietary plan due to the thin crust and toppings.

Menus offered between RM7.90 to RM23.90 each. Customers can also opt to add RM2 for a cup of coffee or tea, either hot or cold.

Meanwhile, by the end of this month, CBTL expects to introduce new choices such as iced matcha espresso macchiato, matcha espresso macchiato and matcha green tea affogato to its beverages selection.
