KOTA KINABALU: The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDNM) launched a Quick Response Code (QR Code) yesterday in conjunction with ‘Transformasi Hasil 2018’ to facilitate obtaining of tax information.

The initiative enables the public to acquire information faster simply by scanning the QR Code through their smart phones which can be downloaded from Play Store or App Store.

“The introduction of this facility is the LHDNM move towards a digital transformation of tax matters in line with LHDNM and the government’s hope to make taxation easier and more user-friendly,” said Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Sabin Samitah.

He was launching the QR Code during the ‘Majlis Mesra LHDNM bersama Media Negeri Sabah’ held at a hotel here yesterday.

With the introduction of the application, the public particularly taxpayers will be able to access required information through one symbol at the tip of the fingers.

Among the information that can be accessed are Individual, Company and Employers Income Tax Payment, Corporate Tax, Income Tax, Individual Business Income, Responsibility of Employers and Co-operative Tax.

In addition, information on Real Property Gains Tax, Stamp Duties, Travel Restrictions, Digital Economy and Termination of Service could also be obtained through the QR Code.

Also present were LHDNM Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mahmood Daud, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Compliance) Abdul Manap Dim and Sabah LHDNM director Suhaili Sudin.
