Ranau Dart Club duo clinch double dart challenge

KOTA KINABALU: Ranau Dart Club duo Francis Jessius and Mohd Norhisham Jani clinched the double dart challenge held in conjunction with the Ranau Youth Sports Carnival held at the Chon Chu Kung Temple in Ranau, recently. The duo defeated TRT Brother in the final to take home the main prize of RM600 cash plus trophy while the latter received RM300 cash and trophy for their efforts.

Whereas two teams, SSM and HL Oporal finished joint third place to receive RM150 cash and trophy while consolation prizes were presented to the top eight finishers, RDC RD, HI Bundu, MISG BBD and Ranau Mix, respectively.

Meanwhile, during the carnival Juta One Collection won the 3-on-3 Futsal Tournament to pocket RM1,000 cash plus trophy.

Massa Service Centre settled for second place after losing in the final, receiving RM500 cash plus trophy, while All-Eight and Matra FC finished joint third place, each receiving RM250 cash plus trophy.

Organising chairman, Kelvin Chua congratulated all the winners and thanked those who participated in all the events organised for showing their support towards the carnival.

“This is a carnival organised for the youths in Ranau and I hope that it will continue to be organised for years to come as it gathers the district’s youths together to compete healthily.

“The carnival is mainly to gather all the youths from and outside Ranau district as fun activities to strengthen relations, while instilling a healthy competitive environment through sports,” he said.

Other than the darts and futsal competitions, events such as e-sports Mobile Legend tournament, auto show, Murai Batu bird singing and strongman exhibition also took place, participated by more than 200 youths from and outside Ranau.

Meanwhile, the opening ceremony was graced by incumbent Karanaan Assemblyman, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun accompanied by Ranau UMNO Youth Chief, Faez Datuk Hj. Nordin.
