Top prizes for Sedco Golf Challenge

KOTA KINABALU: The 16th Sedco Golf Challenge to be held on August 25 at Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club, Tuaran is now open for registration according to organiser, last Friday.

The golf tournament organised by Sabah Economic Development Corporation (Sedco) where according to organising chairman, Mordiana Abdullah, the objectives of the competition is to raise funds for the Sedco Group Club.

“At the same time also, it is to foster and promote goodwill and interaction among the participants compromising of Sedco group companies, government and private agencies as well as associations around the state while at the same time,” she said in a press conference at Hyatt Regency Hotel, last week.

She stressed that the organiser is limiting registration to about 30 teams or around 120 golfers for the tournament to avoid congestion on the course during the competition.

“Registrations are still open to those interested to join where we will be using the Stableford 36 System format while tee off will be done using the shotgun style,” said the Sedco Group Social and Sports Club President.

Attractive prizes are up for grab including a hole-in-one prize for the lucky golfer who shoots an ace as well as three prizes for the team event (Nett), five prizes for individual (Nett), three prizes for individual (Gross) and several novelty prizes (longest drive, nearest to pin, nearest to line).

The registration fee will be RM400 per golfer or RM1,600 per team of four golfers where the fee includes green fees, buggy fees, breakfast, lunch and goodies.

Closing date for registration will be on August 9 where entry forms can be obtained from Mordiana at 088 – 427 111 or 017 – 814 1403, who added that 20 teams have confirmed their participation.
