16th October, 2009

KOTA KINABALU: Fans of popular Hong Kong stars Nancy Sit, Ray Lui, Gallen Lo, Joe Ma, Sharon Chan and Kenneth Ma will have a chance to meet them when they arrive in the city for the premiere of Born Rich.

The stars, together with Hong Kong broadcasting company TVB, will be in Sabah to promote the much-anticipated drama. Born Rich is a 41-episode drama about love and disputes between members of a large corporate banking family starring Ray Lui, Gallen Lo, Jamie Chik and Anita Yuen.

A major part of Born Rich was filmed between March and April in selected locations in Sabah this year, a joint promotion effort made possible by TVB and Tourism Malaysia to promote the State as an ideal filming location.

Locations include the Sunday Market at Gaya Street, Kinabalu Park, Dinawan Island, Rungus Longhouse in Kudat, Simpang Mengayau Cape and the city mosque.

As a special edition to the drama, the ending credits will feature artists sharing their experiences in Sabah.

Born Rich was produced to commemorate TVB’s annual anniversary and is scheduled to premiere at the same time as in Hong Kong.

The series will premiere on Astro On Demand from October 19 to December 13 Monday to Friday at 9.30pm.

In conjunction with the premiere, Tourism Malaysia and Sabah Tourism have launched a series of Born Rich tour packages contributed by Malaysia Airlines and leading travel agents in Hong Kong.

Fans have the opportunity to visit filming locations featured in the drama and a chance to be invited to the worldwide premiere gala dinner of Born Rich in Kota Kinabalu.
