MASwings unveils latest inflight services



KOTA KINABALU: Regional community airline, MASwings, yesterday unveiled its latest cabin refurbishment and refreshed inflight services.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Aminuddin Zakaria said that the upgraded inflight services include the leather seats covers and cushions, non-textile flooring carpet, in-flight food and drinks as well as cabin crew’s appearance.

“Our meals are now served in a box that is printed with MASwings aircraft route map. If the passengers want the box as souvenir, they can take it home,” Aminuddin said this after the ‘MASwings Joyride’ event with media representatives and travel networks with its ATR 72-500 aircraft.

The airline invested more than RM1 million on on-board service for its 10 MASwings ATRs.

“In line with our mantra of Young, Fresh and Speed the effort also aims to enhance passengers comfort and quality products whilst using our services reflecting the true vision of Malaysian Hospitality from the heart all the way, at every touch point especially inflight where passengers spent their time the most.”

Meanwhile, MASwings noted an increase of about 15 per cent of foreign tourists using the regional carrier in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.

According to Aminuddin, when MASwings started operating in 2007, of international tourists made up only about five per cent of its passengers.

“Among the popular destinations for this foreign tourist destination, including Kota Kinabalu and Mulu, besides Tarakan in Indonesia,” he said, adding that the airline carried about 1.2 million passengers each year.

He said the regional carrier was committed to promoting the tourism sector in Sabah and Sarawak, especially for tourists among young people.
